1 · Which links are affiliate links
Links to commercial services can be affiliate links — typically:
- done-for-you NIF and fiscal-representative providers;
- banks and fintech accounts aimed at newcomers;
- international transfer and insurance partners.
Government links (Portal das Finanças, Diário da República, gov.pt) are never affiliate links and never will be.
2 · How this affects our recommendations
It doesn't decide them. We rank options by what serves the reader: cost, speed, and whether a free public route exists. A provider paying us more never moves it up a table.
If a paid service and a free government route both solve your problem, we show the €0 route first — even when we earn nothing from it.
3 · The free path is always shown
Our checkers and comparison tables always present the do-it-yourself option alongside any paid one. If the law doesn't require you to pay, the page says so plainly — that's the point of this site.
